The registered dietitian program of the CNS has been developed for nearly a decade, establishing a comprehensive education and examination system for registered dietitians aligned with international standards. With a foundation of 43 university training bases, it has cultivated numerous professionals active in fields such as hospitals, scientific research, education, elderly care institutions, kindergartens, and food nutrition-related sectors. The inclusion of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong Nutrition Association represents a further alignment of Hong Kong’s dietary nutrition science talent cultivation and certification system with the mainland, significantly enhancing the convenience of talent exchange and learning between the mainland and Hong Kong area and laying the foundation for the establishment of unified standards.
Vice President CAI Wei, on behalf of the Chinese Nutrition Society, announced the decision to designate The Hong Kong Polytechnic University as a training base for registered dietitians. Representatives from both sides jointly unveiled the plaque for the base, marking the addition of new strength to China’s training bases for registered dietitians and heralding a new chapter in the field of nutrition science at the Department of Food Science and Nutrition at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
