Based on Chinese Dietary Guidelines (2022), the Chinese Nutrition Society compiled a simpler and more readable version, titled Chinese Dietary Guidelines (2022, Public Version), to better facilitate understanding and promote application, thereby assisting the public in making healthy dietary choices and behavioral changes.
Its objective is to guide various populations across the entire life cycle, providing healthy dietary guidelines for both healthy individuals and those at risk of diseases. This includes encouraging the scientific selection of foods, pursuing lifelong balanced diets, and engaging in reasonable exercise to maintain a robust and healthy lifestyle, maintain appropriate weight, prevent or reduce the incidence of diet-related chronic diseases, and thereby enhance the overall health status of Chinese residents.
This book explains eight guidelines for balanced diets and provides specific guidance on how to apply these dietary guidelines, practice balanced eating, and prepare daily meals for the family. Following this guide, you can easily learn about food, learn how to plan meals, and achieve your nutritional goals.
The eight guidelines include:
1) Enjoy a varied and well-balanced diet;
2) Be active to maintain a healthy body weight;
3) Have plenty of vegetables, fruits, dairy, whole grains and soybeans;
4) Eat moderate amounts of fish, poultry, eggs and lean meets;
5) Limit foods high in salt, sugar and cooking oil, and avoid alcoholic drinks;
6) Adhere to a healthy eating habit and drink adequate amounts of water;
7) Learn nutrition labeling, shop wisely and cook smart;
8) Pay attention to dietetic hygiene, serve individual portions, and reduce food waste.
